"So I say, live by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature!" Galatians 5:16 "Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come!" 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other!" Galatians 5:25-26 Quench not the Holy Spirit: say yes to God. The Holy Spirit: The One who makes it possible for us to live beyond ourselves. He that is in us is the key to overcoming "he that is in the world," all that is "of the world," and all that is of the flesh! (1 John 4:4) "We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us!" 1 Cor. 2:12 I want to be a woman who "lives in the Spirit," who is "led by the Spirit." The one who "keeps in step with the Spirit" and is "filled with the Spirit!" I want to be compelled by the Spirit. I want to be so full of the Spirit that when He says go, I go! The fruit of the Spirit is: God is developing a fruit in His children. The fruit has the characteristics of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The greek word for love in Gal. 5:22 is agape. This divine love stands in a class of its own. Agape always flows from what is right and best. Agape is not fueled by the desire of the recipient; it is fueled by the need. "For God so (agape) the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (Jn. 3:16, KJV). If God had done what man desired, we would surely be lost. Agape means God did what humanity most needed---------> He pursued in us that which was highest and best. {1 Corinthians 13} {1 Corinthians 1:31}
