Praying God's Word
June 2013
"Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12 ESV
"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1:8 NIV
I have a question for you: "Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?" (Corrie Ten Boom)
During my quiet time with the Lord a couple of weeks ago God challenged me to only pray His Word. Often times we pray out of our emotions and feelings and not based on the Word of God. Don't get me wrong, God understands our hurts, disappointments, and pain, and tells us to cast all of our cares onto Him (1 Peter 5:7), and to call on Him in the day of trouble and He will deliver us (Psalm 50:15 NIV). But as blood bought believers we must always, always be mindful of the Word of God and it's power. Joshua 1:8 says for us to keep the Word of God on our lips.....meaning to speak the Word only. This means we don't speak the problem, we speak the solution. We don't speak the mountain, we speak TO THE mountain and command it to be cast into the sea (Mark 11:23). Joshua 1:8 then says for us to meditate on the Word day and night......not to meditate on the problem, on the situation, on the trial, or on that "particular person" lol......but on the Word of God! This and only this will cause us to be careful to do everything written in the Word and will cause us to be prosperous and successful. Then Jeremiah 1:12 tells us that the Lord watches over His Word....which is His covenant with us....to perform it! Praise God! Friend, it is time that we ask God to ignite a fire on the inside of us that will cause us to want to know Him more, seek Him more, trust Him more, believe Him more, and to strive to be like Him more.
It's time that we take our prayer lives more seriously.
Know that prayerless lives are powerless lives, while prayerful lives are powerful lives!
Prayer is powerful, it not only changes things...but it changes YOU.
It must be your steering wheel and not just a spare tire used only of course when life seems to be flat.
So I challenge you to begin each morning by asking the question, “How can I bring you glory today, Lord Jesus?” Then get your Bible, a pen, and journal and look up some scriptures that apply directly to what you are facing. If you need a financial miracle....look up scriptures that state that God will meet all of your needs. If you are discouraged or afraid, look up scriptures that combat those feelings and empower you to be courageous, to stand firm and fearless, trusting and believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think. When I first began, to be honest it was hard. I will never tell anyone that I know every scripture in the Bible, but thank God for google! lol!
Search scriptures on fear, purpose, confidence, hope, trust, deliverance....etc. And then get alone with God and allow Him to show you that in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Once you get alone start writing, declaring, and praying what the Word says.
On May 16, 2013 I was dealing with fear and anxiety. This was my prayer that I wrote in my journal based on the Word:

On May 16, 2013 I was dealing with fear and anxiety. This was my prayer that I wrote in my journal based on the Word:
I will not fear, for You are with me. I will not be dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen me and You will help me. You will uphold me with Your righthand of righteousness (Is. 41:10). I will make my request known unto You (inserts my many requests here) and the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. When I am afraid, I will trust in YOU God (Ps. 56:3). I will humble myself therefore under Your mighty hand, God. You will exalt me in due time. I will cast all my cares (inserts cares here) upon You, for You God care for me (1 Peter 5:6-7). For you have not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). Lord, I have sought You, You have heard me and delivered me from all fears (Ps. 34:4). Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou (art) with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me (Ps. 23:4). I will be strong Lord and I will not fear! For you are my God and you will come with vengeance; even with a recompense; You will come and save me (Is. 35:4). Father, you have given me peace, Your peace. You give not as the world gives. So I will not let my heart be troubled neither will I be afraid (John 14:27).
I am fearless and full of faith!
Amen
I wrote it and encourage you to do the same, so that whenever the enemy tries to discourage you again, you can pull out that faith filled, Word filled, power filled prayer and declare it again over yourself!
Know that YOU will rise to the level of your confession. God wants to bless you so much. Declare what it is that you want and stand in faith for it. As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, you have the same anointing to remove burdens and destroy yokes, by God's power. So today, start declaring over your life what the scriptures have already spoken......"All my needs are met; No weapon formed against me shall prosper; I have favor with God and man; I am strong; I am healed; I have abundance and no lack", etc. When you believe and speak those word, you are blessing yourself and those words will come back to you manifested! I pray that you will take this challenge with me and I know that God will bless you above and beyond all that you could imagine, ask, or think according to his power that is at work within YOU! (Eph. 3:20)
Pray God's Word today!
Be blessed!
