"Do You Really Believe....." -God
I heard a minister once say that disappointment Is the "feeling" of a "missed appointment."
Boy have we all "felt" that way. Maybe you thought you would be there by now, or have that by now, but again regardless of your story, disappointment is disappointment. It's one thing, to face disappointment, get back up and "try again." But it's another thing to face disappointment, and instead of "trying again," or "believing again," you entertain fear, worry, and anxiety and then end up with the spirit of disappointment. The spirit of disappointment can be very deceiving. It will have you thinking that you're walking by faith, when you're really not. It will have you in a place where disappointment has so long ago became the norm, that you don't truly expect, believe, or hope for anything different....that anything can change. It will have you beating the doors of heaven down in prayer for everyone else, but not for yourself. But friend, this is not the way God called us to live. He called us to live with a spirit of faith, expectancy, and hope. He called us to live believing that ALL things are possible.

In Quietness and Confidence
"….You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit,…,For without consulting me, you have gone down to Egypt for help. You have put your trust in Pharaoh’s protection. You have tried to hide in his shade. But by trusting Pharaoh, you will be
humiliated, and by depending on him, you will be disgraced. For though his power extends to Zoan and his officials have arrived in Hanes, all who trust in him will be ashamed. He will not help you. Instead, he will disgrace you (NLT)." I immediately felt convicted. Here I was getting ready to make my own plans; leaning completely on my own understanding all because I felt uncomfortable and because I was tired of the quiet season of preparation that I'm in. I told my hair dresser recently how it's tough at times when you have a desire to do so much not just for God, but in life, but know it's not quite time. Sometimes we get on social media, and although we are happy for everyone that is making “announcements,” we want to make some announcements of our own. Or maybe if you're like me, you won't post EVERYTHING on social media, but you would at least like to make some announcements in conversation with people.(Hey, I'm just being real…..) But here I was, not just frustrated, discouraged, and slightly scared, but also getting ready to take matters into my own hands and move ahead of God all because I was tired of being in this season. I was getting ready to lean on a “Pharaoh” to get done what I felt God wasn't doing fast enough. I'm sure you can relate. Instead of trusting God to lead and get you to your “expected end” you look to and depend on your personal pharaoh(s). People. Your ability. Your strength. Your _____________. But God told me and He’s telling you, depending on anything other than Him and His Word to do whatever it is that you are believing God for/to do will only lead to disgrace, shame, and disappointment.

Don't Quit
Recently, I had a very discouraging moment and thought about giving up. My dad and mom immediately poured into my spirit and reminded me of not only what God promised them, but what God has promised me. When it was all said and done, my dad called me back and said....."Jacksons don't quit!" After talking with him I thought of all of the discouraging times in my life.....and there were many......that led me to consider quitting. But I would always hear the still small voice say "Daughter, keep going!", "Daughter, I won't let you down....I can not and will not fail YOU!", "Daughter.....trust me.....I've got a plan!" etc. Many of you just like me have at times felt like giving up....but Jesus....the greater Man on the inside of you kept saying.....DON'T QUIT!

The Fear Factor
One question….what is it that you desire to do, but fear has been hindering you? Write it down on a sheet of paper and we will deal with that later. First things first, let's talk about Peter. God told Peter to do something that was impossible for him to do in his own strength and ability……He told him to walk on water! But before Jesus told Peter to come to Him by walking on the water He said, “Take courage! I Am! Stop being afraid” (Matthew 14:27).

By Faith
During my quiet time with the Lord, I was led to Hebrews 11. As you probably know this portion of the Word of God is referred to as the "Hall of Faith" because it features the "Heroes of Faith." As I read I noticed that each of these heroes, all of which had different callings and different stories-----some good and some bad-----did incredible things for the glory of God! They did these incredible and extraordinary things not by their own strength, power, or ability.....but BY FAITH!

Faith That Expects
In the post "By Faith" we realized that the call of God on our lives is going to require a "by faith" life!" We have all heard 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP which says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight or appearance." We all know that as believers we should live by faith.....believing that God is faithful and will surly do it (Thessalonians 5:24 ESV) and that all things will work together for our good (Romans 8:28). But let's be real, sometimes.....it's really hard to believe in spite of what you see or how you feel.

Eyes Of Faith
Recently, I had a very discouraging moment. I felt like completely giving up. After having a "pity party" (might as well be real) I remembered 2 Timothy 1:6-7 which says, "Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." This is why it is important friend, to build yourself up on your most holy faith....not only when trouble comes, but before it does. That way, when trouble comes fear, doubt, nor unbelief will come out of your mouth.....ONLY FAITH, THE WORD, and WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY SPOKEN TO YOUR HEART WILL COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH! As you face the future, situations and circumstances in life may appear overwhelming. But that's only in the natural. If you will open your spiritual eyes, you will clearly see that God and all of Heaven are on your side!
