I Want To Be like.....
Have you ever thought that the grass was greener on the other side? Have you ever looked at someone else's life and thought, "Man, they have it all together?" Have you ever wanted to look like someone else? Have you ever doubted your gifts or what God has called you to do because someone else seems more effective or popular than you? Have you ever wanted something because you wanted to be like the person who had it? Now, I'm not talking about admiring or looking up to someone, but I am talking about wanting to be like other people (or wanting their life) because you "think" that God made some kind of mistake with you.The Israelites are a great example of this. They wanted a king so they could be like all the other nations. Here's the thing: The Israelites already had an identity. They were the chosen people of God! But their desire to be like everybody else made them lose sight of what they ALREADY had and most importantly, who they were. Listen friend, the enemy is after your identity. For those of us who are saved, he knows that he can not do anything about where we spend eternity, but if we allow him to, he can cause us to be ineffective on earth. How? By making us doubt who we are and what we are called and anointed to do. So, how does he try to accomplish this plan and what can we do to fight back? Two words: Distractions and the secret place.

You're More Than That!
Have you ever been somewhere and heard, “I know you….you’re 'so in so’s' daughter!” Or, “You’re that boy that did _______!” Or “You are the one who is extremely intelligent, who has all those degrees behind your name….etc.” No matter what it is we all have heard... “I know you…..” and many times the statement is followed by something in our past, our financial situation….whether it be good or bad, our educational status, our job, our physical appearance, our personality, our triumphs or our failures! But today, I want to suggest to you that YOU ARE MORE THAN THAT!

Who Told You That?!?!
Who told you you were a failure? Who told you that you were not good enough? Who told you that God can't do it and that He would fail you? Friend, the devil is a liar! It's time that we as believers know who and whose we are and believe Truth and not the lies of Satan. He is under our feet (Ephesians 1:22). He has no power and when it's all said and done, what God said will be done! Sure. It may look one way, but that's why we walk by faith and not by sight. Sure. It may not "feel" good, but as believers we are never to be led by our "feelings" anyway.

Mirror, Mirror
How many times have you allowed this world to be your mirror and not Christ and His Word? How many times have you believed the lies of Satan instead of God's truth concerning who you are, your purpose, your value, etc.? How many times have you compared yourself to another person and felt inadequate or insignificant? It can come in many forms…….maybe you have a ministry that you know God told you to start, but you don't have as many "followers" as sister so in so, or maybe people don't seem to "notice" you like they notice "Lara."

Born For This
Are you saved? Do you know Christ? Are you born again? If so……..YOU were born for this! Friend, YOU have been born of an incorruptible seed, a supernatural seed----the Word of God. You are a King's kid. You are royalty. Romans 5:17 says "For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ." When you gave your life over to Christ you no longer had the option of just identifying with your natural family, your past, your failures, or anything else. You are now identified with Christ. Yes, you were born a sinner because of Adam, but once you got born again your identity changed.
